Claudia Tarantino was born in 1944 in San Francisco. Inspired by her mother’s artistic work, she began to draw and paint at a young age. She graduated with an art degree from Dominican College in San Rafael, California and began working with ceramics.
Claudia shifted from production stoneware to working with porcelain and began making sculptural teapots. Her work moves between teapots and trompe l’oiel still life. She is influenced by the works of Kathryn McBride, Annette Corcoran, Richard Notkin, and Patty Warashina among other artists.
Claudia is a two-time recipient of Marin Arts Council Individual Artist Grants and she exhibits nationally in numerous private collections and museums. She and her husband, Bill Abright, maintain a studio together in San Anselmo, CA.
