Victor Cicansky

Victor Cicansky was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan, Western Canada.  He is a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan (Bachelor of Education, 1964), the University of Regina (Bachelor of Art, 1965) and the University of California at Davis (Master of Fine Arts, 1970).  He also studied at Haystack Mountain School of Art at Deree Isle, Maine.

He has taught at the University of Regina for over 20 years, the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, the University of California at Davis, and the Banff School of Fine Arts.  He is the recipient of many Canada Council grants and awards including the Victoria and Albert Award for Ceramic Sculpture, and Saskatchewan Order of Merit.  Cicansky has had many solo and groups exhibitions across Canada, United States, Japan, and Europe.  He is represented in many public and private collections, including Saskatchewan Arts Board, and the National Gallery of Canada.

Victor works and resides in Regina, Saskatchewan.  Victor cites his father, Frank Cicansky, as a significant influence on his life and his art.
